VISA Services Information

General Information on Nepal VISAs:

All foreigners, except Indian nationals, need valid VISA to visit Nepal. All the VISA applications must be submitted online.

  • Click: https://nepaliport-new.immigration.gov.np/
  • Then, Choose: Visa from Nepali Missions
  • Then, Select Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok; and Proceed further accordingly

Normally, a Tourist VISA is issued as an entry VISA for all the foreigners.

Then,

  1. Applicants are suggested to pay visa fees and send the payment slips and application form to nepalvisabkk@gmail.com
  2. The current tourist VISA fee rates are as follows:
    • 15 days Multiple entries permit VISA THB 950/-
    • 30 days Multiple entries permit VISA THB 1,600/-
    • 90 days Multiple entries permit VISA THB 4,000/-
  3. Bank Account Details to Pay Visa Fee is as follows:

4. Normally, Visa are processed within the same day the payment slips received [except in Holiday].

5. Once the Visa is approved, eloctronic visa slips will be sent to the given email of applicants.

VISA Validity and Duration of Stay

Once the VISA is issued, it stays valid for 6 months. This means the holder of the VISA should enter Nepal within 6 months from the date of issue; if not, the VISA will be expired and applicant have to re-apply for the VISA.

A VISA issued with Multiple Entries, however, means the length of time you have permission to remain in Nepal, which depends on the type of Tourist VISA you apply for.

In short, the holder of Multiple Entries Tourist VISA can travel to Nepal multiple times or stay in Nepal for up to 15/30/90 Days, as specified, from the date of entry.

VISA on Arrival:
Those who wish to go for a VISA-on-Arrival, please apply online through VISA on Arrival Application

VISA fees are as follows:
15 Days: 30 US$
30 Days: 50 US$
90 Days: 125 US$

*People of these countries are not eligible for VISA on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal:

Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, and foreigners holding temporary travel document and emergency passports. They require a reference letter from their respective embassies to apply for VISA at the Embassy.

Gratis VISA (VISA for Free):

Gratis VISA (VISA for Free) is issued free of cost for following categories of VISA applicants:

  • Diplomatic/Official VISA for Diplomatic/Official passport holders with Official Note,
  • Children below 10 years except US citizens,
  • Up to 30 days for SAARC Citizen (except Afghanistan) visiting Nepal for the first time in a given VISA year. Afghan citizens are eligible for Gratis VISA on Arrival only upon the recommendation of Department of Immigration,
  • Non-Residential Nepalese (NRN) card holder,
  • Chinese Nationals are eligible for 150 days tourist Gratis VISA in a given VISA year.

VISA Exemption:

Nepali VISA exemption facilities are available based on the reciprocal agreements between the two countries.
